Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions people actually ask before connecting a bank. If yours is not here, reach out.

Security & your data

Yes, and it is central to how Praesco is built. Your bank login credentials never touch our servers, you enter them directly with Plaid, the same connection service used by thousands of financial apps. The account data Plaid returns to us is encrypted, and Praesco only ever reads it. We never store your bank password, and we never move money.
No, and it never will. Praesco only reads and recommends. It shows you the highest-impact move to make next and quantifies it in dollars, but every action is yours to take, in your own bank or brokerage. Nothing happens to your money inside Praesco. This is a deliberate design choice, not a limitation we plan to remove.
No to all three. We do not sell your data. We show no ads. And no bank, lender, or product provider pays us to recommend anything, the only money Praesco makes is the subscription you pay. That is the point: because you are the only one who pays us, our recommendations answer to you and no one else.
We never see or store your bank password, it goes straight to Plaid. And your financial data is never used to train a shared or public AI model. When the assistant answers your questions, it works only with your own data, for you, and that data is never pooled with anyone else's.

How it works

It reads your whole financial picture, cash, credit cards, loans, subscriptions, and investments, and hands you a ranked list of the highest-impact money moves, the most valuable one first, each with a dollar figure attached. Instead of charts to interpret, you get a short, honest list of what to do with your money next.
Budgeting apps and trackers show you what happened. Praesco tells you what to do about it. A tracker might show that you carry a credit card balance; Praesco tells you which card to pay down first, with idle cash from which account, and how much interest that saves you this year. It is the difference between a dashboard and a recommendation.
Yes. Praesco includes a built-in assistant you can ask in plain language, things like how much you spent on dining last month, which card costs you the most, or what changed since last month. It answers from your own connected data. Like the rest of Praesco, it explains and recommends, it never moves money or places a trade.
Most banks, credit cards, and loans connect automatically through Plaid. Just as important, Praesco is built to hold your whole picture, including what a bank feed cannot see, home equity, private investments, alternatives, even metals or collectibles you add yourself. Some brokerages connect cleanly and others are limited by what they allow, so for those you add holdings yourself and everything you own still sits in one place. Completeness is the point, a recommendation is only as good as the full picture behind it.
Broken connections and stale data are the number-one frustration with every app in this category, so we treat them as a first-class problem, not an afterthought. When a connection needs your attention, Praesco tells you plainly. And because a recommendation is only as good as the data under it, you can always see and correct a number yourself. Accuracy is the whole product, so we would rather flag a gap than quietly work around it.

Advice & control

No. Praesco is a software tool, not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and it does not provide investment, legal, or tax advice. Its recommendations are informational, generated by software from the data you connect, and you decide what to act on.
No. Every recommendation is a suggestion, ranked so you can see what matters most, and you decide what to act on. You can mark something done, snooze it, or ignore it. Praesco never takes an action on your behalf and never pressures you, it just keeps an honest, up-to-date read on what would help you most.

Pricing & getting started

Praesco is a flat subscription, $192 a year, with no hidden fees and nothing else to buy. The first 100 members lock in a founding rate of $99 a year for three years. There is no free tier and no one else paying the bill, which is what keeps the recommendations conflict-free. Want to see it first? Try the live demo, it runs on a sample household and connects to no real accounts.
You can cancel anytime, and you can delete your account and the financial data tied to it whenever you want, it is your data. When you disconnect an account or close your subscription, the connection to your financial institution is severed and your stored data is removed. No retention traps, no phone-call-to-cancel.
